Many geographies since, most of which didn’t have a studio within proximity, I found myself living in Sausalito where I began taking classes at Cloudbreak. While I’d taken classes with a spectrum of teachers around the world, I never found the teacher that anchored me into practice until Phina. I felt at home in her class, which was unlike any I’d ever taken: an intense workout that always feels poetic, thoughtfully choreographed with impeccable soundtracks, and new routines every few weeks. Even after moving an hour from the studio, I prioritized her class twice a week, committing to 2 hours of driving each time — for 3 years. Now I live closer to two studios she teaches at and am over the moon to be in such proximity.
